Mayora & Mayora, S.C.'s IP practice upholds its prominence largely due to 'renowned' and 'respected' name partner Eduardo Mayora Dawe who continues to be 'extremely active'. He is in charge of steering this practice area, which is divided between two sisters firms: Mayora IP specializes in various IP matters from trade mark and patent registration to copyright issues while Mayora Domains focuses on domain name management for corporate companies throughout Central America. Associates Vanessa Castro and Santiago Mayora Bascuñana lead the former and the latter groups respectively, and collaborate closely with the firm's litigation department on contentious matters. Mayora IP advised Starbucks on Pepsi's violations of the companies' coexistence agreement; and Park Inn on its entrance into the Guatemalan market after a local company usurped its commercial name. Other clients include Coca-Cola, Claro and Diageo.
